Kystekspressen is owned by two of the major ferry operators in Norway, Torghatten Nord and Fjord1. The new catamarans are based on the highly efficient  40m slender hull design of Paradis Nautica, which was also used on Brødrene Aa`s  prior delivery Krilo Carbo. The new builds will be powered by 2x MTU 16V 2000 M72 diesel engines (2x1440kW), driving two waterjet installations. This system gives the vessels a service speed of 33,5 knots.

Both vessels will have a capacity of 275 passengers. All of the seats and facilities are located on the main deck, which makes it easy accessible for all passengers in accordance to universal design. The vessels are equipped with refreshment kiosk, playroom for children and pet-room.
